It is the first in China to jointly train doctors of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and Prosthetics & Orthotics with Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In addition, it is the first unit of undergraduate program in Rehabilitation Therapy and specialized therapist training in China, and also the director unit of Key Laboratory of Rehabilitation Medicine of Sichuan Province.
The Center has 169 staff members, including 16 with senior professional titles, 9 doing post-doctoral program, 18 with PhD degree and 36 with master’s degree. By introducing modern rehabilitation technology and models from Europe and the United States, the Center is now characterized by professional therapy in specialized disease focusing on functional rehabilitation and rehabilitation technology. In 2018, it ranked No. 3 at the Reputation Rankings of Specialties of the Chinese Hospital Rankings (released by Fudan University).
Rehabilitation Team for fracture and burn injuries is led by Associate Professor Lei Zhongjie. Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Team is led by Associate Professor Xie Wei. Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Team is led by Director Ding Mingfu. Osteoporosis Rehabilitation Team is led by Professor He Chengqi. Brain Trauma Rehabilitation Team is led by Professor He Jing. Cerebrovascular Accident Rehabilitation Team is led by Professor Qu Yun. All the teams integrate doctors, therapists and nurses from rehabilitation medicine, rehabilitation treatment and rehabilitation care to provide medical services to patients respectively with fracture or burn injuries, cardiopulmonary disease, spinal cord injuries, osteoporosis, brain injuries, and cerebrovascular accident after joint consultation.
