From June 17 to 20, the 8th West China International Forum for Emergency Medicine and the 4th Forum for West China Alliance of Emergency Medicine, jointly sponsored by West China Hospital of Sichuan University (WCH of SCU), West China Medicine Technology Transfer Center, West China Second Hospital of SCU, College of Continuing Education of Sichuan University, West China Fourth Hospital of SCU and Sichuan University-the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Institute for Disaster Management and Reconstruction, were held in Chengdu. Nearly 200 well-known experts and scholars from at home and abroad, such as Mayo Medical Center and Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, were invited for delivering speech and exchanges. More than 620 representatives attended on the spot, while over 21,000 people watched the live streaming of the conference.
Song Shigui, Deputy Director of the Health Commission of Sichuan Province, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He hoped that everyone should seize the opportunity to broaden their horizons, work out their development ideas, implement the graded diagnosis and treatment system, and strengthen the integrated development of the emergency system in both Chengdu and Chongqing, contributing more to the promotion of high-quality development of emergency medicine in Sichuan.
Executive Vice President Huang Yong delivered a speech on behalf of WCH, paying high tribute to the colleagues who worked hard on the front line of emergency. He hoped that the emergency colleagues continue to inherit and carry forward fine traditions and pioneering spirit to forge ahead for building a high-quality, coordinated development road.
This forum was themed with “Challenge, Integration and Starting a new journey” and discussed new mechanism and direction in the construction of emergency medicine in the new era. The experts interacted around the linkage of hierarchical diagnosis and treatment, complementary advantages of discipline alliance construction, cross-integration of emergency MDT, intelligent medical information upgrade, scientific research transformation, and medicine-engineering integration. The forum provides an academic exchange platform for theoretical research, achievement sharing, and quality improvement development for the construction of emergency medicine disciplines, talent training, scientific research capabilities and other aspects.
