In January 2022, Associate Professor Ji Yi's team from the Department of Pediatric Surgery published a research paper titled "Sirolimus plus prednisolone vs sirolimus monotherapy for kaposiform hemangioendothelioma: a randomized clinical trial" in Blood (IF: 23.63), a top journal in the field of hematology. In this paper, it was found that sirolimus combined with short-term corticosteroid was an effective method for treatment of kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) combined with Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon(KMP), which is superior to sirolimus monotherapy in improving the symptoms of KHE combined with KMP.
