From July 13 to 22, 2022, a senior experts project for hospital management and specialty construction guidance in Sao Tome and Principe was smoothly completed. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of P. R. China and organized by the International Exchange Center of the Health Commission of Sichuan Province. WCH was actively engaged in this project. Li Ling, director of the International Exchange Center, Vice President Wang Kunjie of WCH and Joana Vasconcelos, president of Hospital Central Ayres de Menezes, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Vice President Wang said that since 2017, WCH has sent 14 foreign-aid medical team members to Sao Tome and Principe, and established an international network alliance hospital. It is hoped that this project will further consolidate the foundation of cooperation and exchanges between both countries in the medical field and inject new momentum into the friendship between the two peoples.
This 10-days project was conducted by means of remote video training. A total of 11 experts and scholars from WCH served as instructors, sharing their knowledge and experience with medical colleagues in Sao Tome and Principe through classroom teaching, discussion and exchange, cloud visit & inspections. A total of 58 government officials from hospital management, middle and senior hospital managers, department heads and reserved backbone personnel from Sao Tome and Principe participated in the training. On July 22, an online graduation ceremony was held for the project.
