Dutch Delegation visits WCH

On March 17, a delegation led by Mr. Huub Buise, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, and Professor Jaap Bonjer, Director of the Amsterdam Skills Centre (ASC), visited West China Hospital. The meeting was attended by Vice President Wang Kunjie and representatives from the International Office and the Clinical Skills Training Center.


Vice President Wang Kunjie provided an overview of the hospital’s achievements in medical care, education, and research, highlighting past collaborations with Dutch institutions. He expressed hopes to deepen bilateral cooperation in academic exchanges, joint research, and talent development, building upon the Sino-Dutch Green Hospital Project to advance medical excellence in both countries. Minister-Counsellor Huub Buise emphasized the Netherlands’s trong commitment to collaborating with China, noting significant potential for growth in healthcare partnerships, particularly in professional training and scientific research. Professor Jaap Bonjer introduced ASC’s initiatives and the Netherlands’ specialized medical training programs.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on future trends in medical skills training. Following the meeting, the delegation toured our Clinical Skills Training Center and experienced advanced medical simulation facilities.

This visit strengthened mutual understanding and trust between our hospital and ASC, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in curriculum development and innovative surgical training models. It marks another milestone in expanding our hospital’s global partnerships.
