On April 25th, Mr. Lampun Puntanaprates, Adviser to the Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), along with his delegation, paid a visit to West China Hospital (WCH). Vice President Wang Kunjie of our hospital met with the guests in the third conference room of the administrative building. The meeting was also attended by Director General Weerachai Arjiharn from the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), Deputy Director Tanasit Techanukul from the Cancer Center of Bumrungrad International Hospital, representatives from the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation, and representatives from relevant departments of WCH.

Vice President Wang Kunjie extended a warm welcome to the Thai delegation. He noted that WCH has always placed great emphasis on academic exchanges and cooperation with various Thai institutions and has laid a solid foundation for cooperation in the past. He expressed his hope that this visit would promote comprehensive cooperation between our hospital and top medical research institutions and hospitals in Thailand, such as the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research and Bumrungrad International Hospital.
Mr. Lampun Puntanaprates highly praised WCH as a century-old renowned institution with a long history and profound heritage for its outstanding achievements in medical research, clinical practice, and talent cultivation. He stated that Thai universities and hospitals have been looking forward to cooperating with WCH and hoped that this visit would build a bridge to further deepen the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
Introduction of MHESI
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), established on May 2, 2019, is a Thai government body responsible for overseeing higher education, scientific research, and innovation in Thailand. The formation of MHESI resulted from the merger of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Office of the Higher Education Commission, and the National Research Council, aiming to integrate and enhance the country's educational and scientific capabilities.
