On March 11, a delegation from the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) of Singapore, led by Professor Au Wing Lok, Chief Executive Officer of NNI, visited West China Hospital. Vice President Hu Jiankun, along with representatives from relevant administrative departments and clinical departments, participated in the exchange activities.

On behalf of the hospital, Vice President Hu Jiankun extended a warm welcome to Professor Au Wing Lok and his delegation. He noted that, as a key neuroscience center under the SingHealth group, the visit by Professor Au's team represents an important step in deepening the collaboration between our hospital and SingHealth. He expressed hope that both sides could focus closely on major health challenges in the future, with talent development as the core, and by optimizing clinical service models, improving patient experience, and fostering scientific innovation as key drivers, establish substantial and in-depth cooperation that benefits a wide range of patients.

Professor Au highly commended the solid foundation for collaboration between the two sides. He stated that NNI is willing to further promote in-depth cooperation with our hospital in areas such as nursing, clinical research, and medical technology, with a focus on cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, and the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of stroke. He aims to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes at a higher level and across a broader scope in areas like scientific research collaboration and joint talent development.

During the exchange session, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on current developments and future plans across multiple areas, including neurology, neuroradiology, nursing management, operations management, financial management, human resources, information systems development, and outpatient operations, reaching several consensuses.

Following the meeting, Professor Au and his delegation also visited the Jinjiang Campus, where they held in-depth academic exchanges and conducted site visits with expert teams from our hospital's Department of Neurology and Department of Neurosurgery.
