WCH sends rescue team to Nepal for earthquake relief

On April 25, a M8.1 earthquake happened in Nepal. On April 26, West China Hospital of SCU started an emergency plan upon receiving the superior order, assigning a 9-person medical team of experienced medical staff with earthquake medical rescue experiences to join in Sichuan national emergency medical rescue team, and go to Nepal for earthquake medical treatment and rescue. The team members include: Jin Xiaodong, Zhou Yan of ICU, Ye Lei, Tang Shiyuan, Ye Jian of Emergency Treatment Dept., Zhang Hui of Orthopedics Dept., Zhang Jun of Mental Hygiene Center, Xiao Haitao of Burns Surgery, and Yu Lei of Pharmacy Dept. 5 out of 9 members are CPC members, and Jin Xiaodong of ICU is appointed as the team leader.

All emergency staff assembled on the afternoon of April 26; and all emergency medicines, instruments, logistics goods and materials were put in place at 9:00 pm. All staff went to airport at 10:00 pm after a brief ceremony, and took off to Katmandu at 4:00 am on April 27.
