On November 11, 2017, WCH ranked No.2 with 87.727 points in the 2016 China Hospital Ranking (General). Professor Wan Xuehong, Executive vice president West China Hospital and representatives from relevant departments attended the 2016 China Hospital Ranking Conference held in Shanghai by the Hospital Management Institute, Fudan University.

The general list was consisted with 2 parts: clinical reputation (80%) and research power (20%). WCH got full points of 20 in research power again.

This year's list involved a total of 37 clinical specialties. WCH had 34 specialties in the assessment because it doesn’t have stomatology, obstetrics and gynecology and internal pediatric medicine. Here are some great achievements WCHers have made.

l  Anesthesiology ranked first for eight consecutive years

l  Emergency medicine, radiology ranked second

l  General surgery, pathology, neurosurgery, urology, geriatrics ranked third

l  17 specialties ranked top 5

l  28 specialties ranked top 10

l  Another 6 specialties got nominations

Also, WCH ranked first both in the 2016 China Hospital Ranking-General (Southwest China) and the 2016 China Hospital Ranking-Specialties (Southwest China). Of all the 34 specialties, WCH’s pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, burn, clinical pharmacology ranked NO.2, the rest ranked NO.1 in Southwest China.
