On July 2nd, the torch of the 31st World University Summer Games was relayed in Chengdu. Three representatives from West China Hospital participated as torchbearers in the relay. They are Professor Kang Yan, a professor in Critical Care Medicine and the President of West China Tianfu Hospital (leg 23), Professor Zeng Yong, former Vice President of WCH and a professor of General Surgery (leg 73), and Professor Huang Jin, Executive Vice President of WCH (leg 77).

The 31st World University Summer Games will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan from July 28th to August 8th, 2023.
