At the invitation of the Ethiopian Government, the Chinese anti-pandemic expert team to Ethiopia set off from Chengdu on April 16th to assist in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The expert group was established by the National Health Commission and selected by the Sichuan Provincial Health Commission. The team was led by Prof. Zeng Yong, Vice President of West China Hospital, Prof. Jin Xiaodong of Critical Care Medicine, Prof. Zong Zhiyong of Infection Control Department and other experts from WCH and other hospitals in Sichuan Province joined the team.

The expert group also brought medical supplies donated by the Chinese Government to support the battle against the Covid-19 Pandemic in Ethiopia.

On the afternoon of April 15th, Vice President Zhang Lin of Sichuan University, President Li Weimin and Party Secretary Zhang Wei of WCH and other school leaders saw off the seven experts of our hospital.
