On April 3 and 4, the Annual Meeting of the Pacific and Asian Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (PASMISS) was hosted by PASMISS in South Korea. Professor Zeng Jiancheng of Orthopedics Department of WCH (West China Hospital) was invited to attend the annual meeting online, and gave a couple of keynote speeches while presiding over the meeting.
Founded in 2000, PASMISS has maintained high influence in the international minimally invasive spine surgery field. More than 300 experts, scholars and other professionals from the United States, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia and other countries attended the conference, discussed and shared the latest scientific research achievements in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery.
With four keynote speeches, Professor Zeng contributed most among all the speakers. (was the expert with the most speeches at this meeting).
Professor Zeng took the lead in carrying out percutaneous endoscopic minimally invasive spinal surgery in China in 2010, and cured over 5,000 patients across mainland China and from countries and regions such as the United States and Hong Kong. He has been highly praised by patients and peers at home and abroad. With characteristics of less trauma and quick recovery, minimally invasive spine surgery can significantly shorten the patients’ time of hospitalization and facilitate their recovery. Up to now, more than 350 doctors from mainland China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions have come to WCH to observe and learn the surgery technique. He also reported the percutaneous endoscopic treatment for juvenile lumbar disc herniation and osteoid osteoma for the first time in the world, sparking great feedback among his peers.
