From Dec. 2 to 4, WCH sent a team to attend the first BEYOND International Science and Technology Innovation Expo, which was hosted by Macao Association for Science and Technology and jointly organized by the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and the China Science and Technology Exchange Center. With an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters, this Expo focused on the sci-tech impacts on various industries, the transformation and utilization for sustainable development.
At the Expo, WCH displayed its overall situation, transformation projects of major sci-tech achievements, innovative scientific research platforms, featured medical technologies, featured cultural and creative products. He Yicheng, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, visited the WCH sector to hear a briefing, hoping that WCH could be deeply integrated into the development of Macao in the future and establish stable cooperation relations with the universities and enterprises in Macao. At the special forum on the afternoon, WCH’s Deputy Secretary Luo Fengming made a recorded speech titled “Scientific and Technological Innovation and Achievement Transformation of West China Hospital”, which was well praised by other delegations.
On Dec. 3, at the invitation of the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST), WCH’s team visited the campus and met with Vice President Kwong Ying Wa, relevant leaders of the Faculty of Medicine and affiliated hospitals; the team also visited the Skills Training Center and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research for Traditional Chinese Medicines, and had an in-depth exchange with Professor Zhang Kang on the progress of related transformation projects and further cooperation intentions. During the talks, Vice President Kwong Ying Wa hoped that by signing the cooperation agreement, the two sides will fully integrate their respective advantages to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism.
