From March 26 to 28, the final round of the 17th "Challenge Cup" National College Students Extracurricular Academic Scientific and Technological Works Competition (hereinafter referred to as the final round) was held in the form of online defense, and students of WCH won one first prize in the final round.
The program "Guarding Life: A Study of Suicide Intervention Strategies for Primary and Secondary School Students Based on a Survey of 8502 pairs of Primary and Secondary School Students and their Parents" (instructed by Zhao Li from West China School of Public Health/West China Fourth Hospital, Huang Xiaoqi and Shi Xuedan from West China School of Medicine/ West China Hospital) led by Liang Kaili, a master student of Imaging Medicine and Nuclear Medicine, Grade 2020 of WCSM, won the first prize in the main category of "Social Survey Reports and Academic Papers in Philosophy and Social Sciences-Education". In this program, quantitative and qualitative analyses were combined to systematically study the problem of extreme psychological crisis behaviors among primary and secondary school students from three levels: individuals, families and schools, as well as the dimensions of psychological problem and family environment through survey of 8,502 pairs of primary and middle school students and their parents in Chengdu, demonstrating different pathways for the occurrence of extreme psychological crisis among students at different ages. For the first time, the team proposed a solution for the whole process of precise individualized intervention for primary and secondary school students' psychological crisis, which consists of three steps: regular screening and assessment, classification of intervention levels and individualized and precise implementation. This solution has been adopted by many primary and secondary schools in Chengdu.
