Neurology team shares expertise at the 29th World Parkinson's Congress in Lisbon

From May 19th to 22nd, the 29th World Congress on Parkinson's and Related Disorders (WCPD) was successfully held in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. The conference attracted clinicians and researchers from over 50 countries and regions worldwide. A team of five led by Professor Shang Huifang from West China Hospital's Department of Neurology was invited to participate and engage in in-depth academic exchanges, showcasing WCH's research achievements in the clinical, genetic, and imaging aspects of Parkinson's disease and related disorders.

The conference, organized by the International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders (IAPRD), aimed to build an international platform for exchange, enhance global academic communication and cooperation, improve the quality of clinical and basic research, and promote the advancement of research on Parkinson's disease and related disorders. The event included more than 40 keynote sessions and over 30 breakout sessions, with in-depth discussions on the clinical features, biomarkers, neuroimaging, and therapeutic advancements of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, essential tremor, and Huntington's chorea. The Department of Neurology delivered four keynote speeches and presented 13 posters at the conference.
