Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) is an effective treatment technique for complications of portal hypertension. In recent years, TIPS has seen rapid development in technical methods, prognostic models, and expanded clinical indications. The EASL guidelines comprehensively explore preoperative assessment and selection for TIPS, bleeding, ascites and renal function, postoperative follow-up, hepatic encephalopathy, and special cases (hepatocellular carcinoma and liver transplantation), providing valuable references for related treatments.
