The Simulation Center(aka Clinical Skills Training Center) of West China Hospital started to build in 1996. Developing up to now, the center covers the total area of 11000 ㎡ and have more than 5000 pieces of equipment which is worthy over 100 million RMB. Now our center has become an open, comprehensive and innovative platform for the experimental teaching and clinical skills training, increasingly shows its importance regionally and nationally. It’s definitely one of most important parts of our education system.

With various teaching methods as standardized patients, animal models, moulds and virtual systems, the center carries out different curriculum for each stage of medical education, including undergraduate education, standardized training of residents, continuous education for specialists and science education for the public and so on. Not only can our center carry out clinical skills training, but also cultivating other competence, such as capacities of doctor-patient communication and clinical reasoning. Moreover, simulation training and team-work practice are also provided to improve the quality of medical service and ensure patients’ satisfaction and safety.
