Recently, Prof. Qian Zhiyong’s team of the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, WCH, published an online research paper titled “Tumor microenvironment responsive drug-dye-peptide nanoassembly for enhanced tumor-targeting, penetration, and photo-chemo-immunotherapy” in a well-known journal in the field of materials science--Advanced Functional Materials (impact factor of 13.325).
In this study, a nano-assembly structure with multiple functions of phototherapy/chemotherapy/immunotherapy was successfully constructed by using small molecule near infrared dyes with photothermal treatment function as the carrier to load chemotherapeutics and combing a polypeptide sequence that can target tumors and block PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint, which enhanced the therapeutic effect, and provided a new strategy for anti-tumor therapy.
The first author is Peng Jinrong, a Postdoctoral fellow of Prof. Qian Zhiyong, the corresponding author is Prof. Qian Zhiyong, and the first institute is the State key Laboratory of Biotherapy of West China Hospital, Sichuan University. The above study is supported by the Outstanding Youth Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China, general program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Innovation Team, 135 high-end talent support program of West China Hospital, etc.
