On March 23rd to 28th, Hospital Party Secretary Zhang Wei led a delegation to attend the Israel Digital Health Forum and China-Israel Digital Health Partner Forum in Tel Aviv. The delegation also visited Sheba Hospital (Israel’s No.1 hospital) and Soroka Hospital (a branch of the largest healthcare provider-- Clalit company). Delegation members include the representatives from Biomedical Big Data Center, Clinical Research Management Department, the Office of Party Committee and International Office.

At the Medin Israel Conference, Party Secretary Zhang Wei, as a main representative of China, attended the G2G Bilateral Meeting on the sideline of China-Israel Digital Health Partner Forum, and offered suggestion and scheme for China-Israel bilateral cooperation in the field of digital health. The delegation inspected smart wearable devices, remote medical monitoring, medical cloud platform and other innovation products, and also visited the Alzheimer Research Center to learn about the latest intelligent medical treatment in Israel and its application in clinical medical institutions. The delegation was impressed by Israel’s pioneering position in the field of digital health medicine.

During the visit to Sheba Hospital and Soroka Hospital, the delegation of WCH communicated with the administrators and experts of clinical research, health service digital products, medical innovation, cosmetic medicine of the two hospitals. The delegation gained a deep insight into the applications of Israel's medical and health system, hospital management, digital medicine and AI, smart hospital construction, scientific innovation system, national big data and digital medical strategy, and also shared the experience of West China Hospital; besides, the delegation visited the world’s first medical simulation teaching center at Sheba Hospital and the Trauma Center based on actual conditions of Israel, and reached cooperation intention with the hospitals on personnel exchange and collaborative innovation projects.

The visit has enhanced the mutual understanding between West China Hospital and advanced medical institutions in Israel, providing a catalyst for further cooperation with Israeli health department, medical institutions and innovation enterprises.
