On the morning of December 21, a visiting
professor appointment ceremony took place in Room 203 of the Qide Hall. Vice President
Wang Kunjie, heads from the International Office, Laboratory Medicine
Department and representatives of young talents, totaling more than 20 people,
attended the ceremony.
Vice President Wang Kunjie read out the
decision to appoint Professor Lorena Ruiz Perez as a visiting professor at West
China Hospital and presented her with the letter of appointment. He expressed
the hope that with the support and assistance of Professor Lorena Ruiz Perez,
the Laboratory Medicine Department of West China Hospital could reach new
heights in education, research, and international cooperation.
Professor Lorena Ruiz Perez expressed her
willingness to establish closer ties with West China Hospital and the research
team of the Laboratory Medicine Department, promoting academic exchanges, and
generating more high-level research results together.
Before the appointment ceremony, an academic
exchange meeting was held in the teaching room of the Translational Medicine
Building. Professor Lorena Ruiz Perez gave a special report, engaged in
in-depth discussions with the Laboratory Medicine Department about ongoing
research projects, and outlined a preliminary framework for collaboration.
Professor Lorena Ruiz Perez is a doctoral
supervisor and serves at the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia. She is
the Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Bionics. Her research
primarily focuses on self-assembly systems of copolymers and proteins, as well
as molecular imaging under liquid transmission electron microscopy. Her
research areas include advanced materials, biophysics, nanotechnology, and
more. She has published over 60 original research papers, including in journals
such as Science Advances, Nano Today, and Advanced Materials.
