Recently, the International Gastroenterology Training Conference was held in Dubai, with over 1000 experts and scholars in the field of gastroenterology from nine Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, and Iraq. Professor Hu Bing from the Department of Gastroenterology of West China Hospital was invited by Professor Sherouk Gamal, Chair of the Independent Committee of Hikma GI, to attend the conference and deliver a keynote speech and surgical training.

During the conference, Professor Hu Bing delivered a keynote speech on "How I do ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection)" and conducted hands-on training. Attendees had the opportunity to closely observe Professor Hu Bing's techniques in ESD procedures and were impressed by the exceptional skills demonstrated. Dr. Eva Fontagnier, a German doctor who had previously come to West China Hospital for training in 2019, also exchanged experiences with Professor Hu Bing regarding ESD procedures.

After the conference, many attendees expressed their desire to come to West China Hospital for further training. As an international training base for doctors, the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center of WCH, under the leadership of Professor Hu Bing's team, continues to strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation with the "Belt and Road Initiative" countries as well as European and American countries.
