SCU's medical and nursing subjects make notable gains in 2024 QS World University Rankings
Recently,
the globally recognized higher education research institution Quacquarelli
Symonds (QS) released the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject. Sichuan
University made a remarkable showing in these rankings, with its medical
discipline entering the global top 200 for the first time, ranked at 167th
place; its nursing discipline also made a significant leap, entering the global
top 100 for the first time, with a ranking between 51st and 100th place.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject is
considered one of the four most authoritative subject rankings in the world,
alongside the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject, the
US News Global Best Subject Rankings, and the Shanghai Soft Science World-Class
Subject Rankings. The 2024 QS rankings include 1559 universities across 55
disciplines. The rankings are based on four key indicators: academic
reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, and the H-index. Academic
and employer reputations reflect the international standing of institutions in
their respective fields, while citations per paper and the H-index, based on
the Scopus database, measure the impact of research.
