Respiratory Therapy Department attends 38th American Congress of Sleep Medicine to present latest research findings
Recently, the 38th Annual Sleep Meeting of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) was successfully held in Houston, USA. The conference attracted sleep medicine experts from nearly 100 countries and regions worldwide. Professor Ni Yuenan from Respiratory Therapy Department of West China Hospital was invited to attend and give a speech, sharing the latest achievements and experiences in the field of sleep medicine at West China Hospital.
During the conference, Professor Ni Yuenan provided a detailed introduction to the clinical application of acetazolamide in plain and high-altitude sleep apnea, explored the accuracy of respiratory event monitoring by ventilators, the impact of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on cardiac structure changes, and effective measurement methods for the Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI). Her research findings were highly recognized by the attending experts.
As the Sleep Ambassador in the Asian region, Professor Ni Yuenan was also invited to participate in the International Membership Networking Mixer and “the Harvard Party”. She engaged in in-depth discussions with international peers on the training system for sleep clinicians and jointly planned future collaborative research directions with experts from Harvard Medical School, aiming to enhance the research level in the field of sleep medicine at WCH.
