Professor Min Pengqiu from Department of Radiology of West China Hospital won the gold medal and made conference report at the 3rd Asian Congress of Abdominal Radiology (ACAR) on May 13th, 2011.
Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology (ASAR) was raised by Japanese and South Korean radiologists and founded in 2007. Professor Min Pengqiu from West China hospital was invited and elected as executive committee in the first Executive Council Committee of ASAR,and reelected to this year.
Since the 2nd ACAR, the Executive Council Committee will elect an Asian abdominal radiologist with significant academic achievements as the gold medalist at every session. At the 3rd ACAR held in Beijing, Professor Min Pengqiu was unanimously adopted by all the Executive Council Committee members, to become the second Asian abdominal radiologist with this honor following a Japanese scholar.
Song Bin, director of Radiology department of West China Hospital, led a 13-people team including some Nepal foreign students to attend this congress. Director Song Bin not only hosted the ACAR lecture courses, but also took part in the case analysis and discussion as the only Chinese representative with Japanese and South Korean representatives. Every member of the WCH team have given lectures or article reports in the conference.
