On the afternoon of October 10, at the Day Surgery Center, Associate Professor Du Zhenggui of Breast Surgery was performing breast-conserving and axillary sentinel lymph node biopsy for a breast cancer patient. With the successful completion of the operation, the number of day surgery cases of breast cancer has exceeded 100.

From this March, the Department of Breast Surgery and the Day Ward of West China Hospital began to perform day surgery for breast cancer patients. With the support and guidance of Prof. Lv Qing, Director of the Department of Breast Surgery and Prof. Ma Hongsheng, Director of the Day Surgery Center, Associate Professor Du Zhenggui led his team to carry out routine daytime surgeries for breast cancer patients in cooperation with doctors such as Dr. Liu Yang from the Day Surgery Center, completing four to five cases per week. Thus far, a total of 100 cases have been completed with innovative and internationally leading operation modes.
