On Nov. 18-20, the academic activities of the West China-Mayo International Forum of Critical Care Medicine in 2022 and the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Department of Critical Care Medicine in West China Hospital were held in Jinjiang Hotel, Chengdu. Wang Jian, vice president and secretary general of the Chinese Medical Association, Professor Guan Xiangdong, chairman of the Critical Care Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Song Shigui, deputy director of the Health Commission of Sichuan Province, Professor Zhang Wei, deputy party secretary of the Sichuan University, and Professor Shen Wenwu, deputy party secretary of WCH, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. More than 200 experts of critical care medicine at home and abroad attended the conference both online and offline, attracting more than 200,000 viewers.
Professor Kang Yan, discipline director of the Department of
Critical Care Medicine of WCH & president of West China Tianfu Hospital of
Sichuan University, and Professor Daniel Brown, chair of the Division of
Critical Care in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at
Mayo Clinic, served as the chairs of the conference. With the theme of standardizing
core technologies and focusing on annual hot spots, the conference attracted personnel
working in critical care, anesthesia, emergency and other clinical specialties,
nursing, medical technology and medical affairs management to participate in
online and offline forms. They conducted exchanges and shared opinions through
various forms of communication. 19 domestic or international experts in
critical medicine made reports on topics such as discipline construction,
development history and future trends of critical medicine.
