The 2024 International Society for Magnetic
Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance
in Medicine and Biology (ISMRT) Annual Meeting & Exhibition took place from
May 4th to 9th in Singapore. The radiology research team from West China
Hospital was invited to attend and present multiple speeches.
Professor Gong Qiyong delivered a keynote
speech titled "Application of fMRI in Psychiatric Disorders,"
providing a comprehensive interpretation from the blood oxygen level-dependent
(BOLD) response in basic physiology to methods of measurement and visualization
using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Professor Lv Su shared cutting-edge MRI
techniques in his conference report titled "MRI Characterization of In
Vitro Clots at 3T & 7T," discussing how to use various MR sequences to
provide high-resolution images for accurate localization and identification of
blood clots.
Professor Huang Xiaoqi, as the chair of the
Psychiatric MRI Study Group, presided over the group meeting and was honored
with the ISMRM Senior Fellow at the ISMRM 2024 Annual Awards Ceremony for her
pioneering contributions in exploring the mechanisms of mental disorders and
behavioral issues using new MRI technologies and their clinical translation.
Only three individuals in Asia received this prestigious award.
Established in 1994, the International
Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) is a multidisciplinary,
non-profit academic society composed of experts and scholars in magnetic
resonance physics, biochemistry, clinical medicine, and related areas. It is
the largest and most prestigious international academic organization in magnetic
resonance imaging, with over 8,000 members from 56 countries and regions
worldwide.
