On June 19th, Prof. Judith F. Karshmer, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Innovation, Arizona State University, USA, paid a visit to West China Hospital. Wan Xuehong, Executive Vice President of WCH, along with directors from the International Office, the School of Nursing and representative teachers attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Prof. Wan Xuehong extended a warm welcome to Prof. Judith F. Karshmer and briefed WCH's history, development process and achievements. Li Ka, Executive Dean of the School of Nursing, discussed with the guests about the master and doctor programs between the School of Nursing, SCU, and the School of Nursing and Health Innovation, Arizona State University.
On the afternoon of the 19th, Prof. Karshmer delivered a lecture on "Nursing and Healthcare Trends" in Teaching Building 8, with the attendees including over 150 teachers, graduate students and core nurses with master degree and above.
Prof. Karshmer also visited the Clinical Skills Training Center, exchanged with the managerial staff the operational management and configuration of simulation equipment, and discussed the topics on simulation teaching, remote teaching, enhancing nursing education quality and expanding the scope of higher nursing education.
Through this visit, both sides hoped to strengthen contacts and exchanges and promote mutual visits and cooperation. The follow-up exchanges and training programs could bring more opportunities of WCH’s nursing students to study in Arizona State University.
