The Chinese National Emergency Medical Rescue Team sent to Bangladesh returns home safely

On the morning of September 27, with the approval of the National Health Commission, the Chinese National Emergency Medical Rescue Team, organized by West China Hospital of Sichuan University and sent to Bangladesh, successfully completed a 5-day medical rescue mission and returned to Chengdu under the leadership of Deputy Director Dong Qian from the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission. The hospital's leadership, relevant clinical and administration departments held a welcome ceremony at the airport and at the hospital's main campus.

During their work in Bangladesh, the Chinese National Emergency Medical Rescue Team, in accordance with the work arrangements agreed upon by both Chinese and Bangladeshi governments, worked with officials from the Bangladeshi Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and medical staff from local institutions to carry out rescue work for the injured. They overcame numerous challenges, including high temperatures, language barriers, working conditions, and differences in living habits, and successfully completed their designated tasks, which were highly affirmed by the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi side.

On September 25th, Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with the interim government leader of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, Mr. Yunus, on behalf of the entire people of Bangladesh, expressed gratitude to China for sending medical staff to Bangladesh to treat the injured.
