King's College London delegation visits WCH
On October 17th, a delegation from the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine of King's College London (KCL), led by Executive Dean Professor Ajay Shah, visited West China Hospital (WCH). They held talks with the hospital's President Luo Fengming, Vice President Wang Kunjie, and heads of relevant departments, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

President Luo emphasized the international reputation of KCL in medical education and research, which has long been at the forefront globally. He looks forward to collaborative efforts yielding outstanding educational and research achievements, enhancing medical service quality, and benefiting patients.

Dean Ajay Shah stated that the signing of the MOU signifies a further strengthening of the partnership, fostering greater interaction between the two institutions and jointly advancing innovation in medical education, clinical research, and patient care, contributing to the global health cause. 

During the visit, Professors Mauro Giacca and Michael Malim delivered well-received academic lectures on "RNA Therapies for Cardiac Repair and Regeneration" and "Microbes in Health and Disease," respectively, to the faculty and students of the hospital.

The delegation also toured the hospital's medical facilities, engaging in in-depth exchanges with departments such as Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Infectious Diseases, and visited research facilities like the Translational Medicine Building.

On the morning of October 18th, Vice President Guo Yingqiang of WCH and the delegation further discussed cooperation in medical education, postdoctoral exchanges, doctoral training, and academic collaboration, with representatives from WCH's International Office, Graduate Department, Academic Affairs Department, Infectious Diseases Center, Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Surgery in attendance.

The visit and the MOU will promote exchanges and cooperation between the faculties and students of both institutions, providing valuable opportunities for training medical talents with an international perspective. This event is significant for strengthening Sino-British cooperation in the medical field, enhancing WCH's international influence, and advancing the development of global health initiatives.
