On the morning of October 14th, Professor Peter McCormick,
Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, visited West
China Hospital (WCH) for in-depth discussions with WCH’s Vice President Wang
Kunjie and heads of relevant departments on enhancing cooperation, faculty and
student exchanges, medical education collaboration, joint research, and talent
cultivation.
Vice President Wang Kunjie warmly welcomed Professor
McCormick and, after presenting the history, disciplinary strengths, and recent
developments of West China Hospital and West China School of Medicine,
highlighted the fruitful outcomes of years of deep collaboration, including
joint research achievements and frequent exchanges, as well as the successful
holding of three times of the "West China-Liverpool Clinical Research
Scholars Development Forum." He expressed hopes to further deepen the
cooperative relationship and jointly advance research and educational
endeavors.
Professor McCormick provided insights into the structure
of the University of Liverpool, its medical school, master's programs, and the
progress of joint research centers in China. He expressed a desire to expand
student exchange programs, enabling more students from West China to study in
Liverpool, and to explore the possibility of establishing joint research
centers.
